Our Work...

When one hears of Green Dream Zambia, issues of the environment quickly flood the mind. While we have projects focusing on the environment, we believe that a conducive environment is necessary for the holistic development of the individual. We believe the environment goes beyond the eco-system. We've seen over and over again that what happens in the life of people is as significant as what happens in the environment that surrounds them.

The question arises what dream do we have? Our dream is to realise a Zambia where God's love is manifested in people's lives through fulfilled and empowered lives. At the heart of our community service is our desire to see a saved nation, where assertive, successful citizens utilise their talents to affirm their role in society and working out their salvation with fear. We understand the vicious cycle of poverty and recognise that people have to be empowered for them to empower others. We have programmed our work around use of ICTs, community service and empowerment as we impact lives.

We also believe that knowledge is power, but that knowledge must be supported by relevant, accurate and timely information for it to be any useful. Our health programme focuses on promoting health seeking behaviours because often times what determines life or death may not be lack of medical care but lack of health information.

Issue:   Environmental Degradation

The environment has been degraded by unsustainable farming practices, indiscriminate industrial activity and retrogressive cultural practices

  • promoting sustainable farming methods

  • conducting awareness campaigns

Community Service

Issues: Poverty, Illiteracy, Unemployment

  • facilitating peer dialogue and support through support groups

How You Can Help:

  • Sponsoring a child

Would you like to sponsor a child? Gifts in kind are a kind of charitable giving in which, instead of giving money to buy supplies, the goods and services themselves are given. Gifts in Kind help Green Dream defray operating costs, such as advertising and printing. You can skip a meal and donate it to a hungry pupil, package donations in a shoe Box or send a monthly or one-off gift to the aged.

Health Communications

Issues: Ignorance, Disease

Health-seeking behaviours are hampered by ignorance and misinformation that increases the disease burden. Simple health matters often lead to chronic conditions and even death. Whereas access to health services is important, health information is crucial to the prevention, cure or management of many health issues.
